From acting to the squared circle, Emmy winner Hauser is ready to rumble for Major League Wrestling

Paul Walter Hauser thanked his parents, voters, agents and fellow nominees in his acceptance speech in January when he won an Emmy Award for his role in the film “Black Bird.”

And then, in a move more befitting Sting than Stingray, Hauser cut a promo straight out of the squared circle.

“It’s a ‘what’s up’ with Jesus. He owns the soul. I own the body. I’m going to beat Matt Cardona,” he said.

Hulk Hogan and Roman Reigns never insulted their wrestling opponents on the awards stage.

Houser, 37, kept his word two months later, lighting a table on fire before his ally Bully Ray slammed former WWE star Cardona with a table at an independent wrestling show.

Just as Hauser’s acting career is set to shake up the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his professional wrestling career is also heating up.

Hauser has announced that he will compete in a 40-man Battle Riot match on a Major League Wrestling promotional card on June 1st in Atlanta. He is one of the wrestlers scheduled to compete in the battle royale and street fight mashup on YouTube’s Battle Riot VI.

MLW Founder and CEO Court Bauer said, “Paul is special for his passion-driven, dual-track career and the constant qualities that distinguish candidates from candidates. We are building a

For Hauser, wrestling is more than just a promotional activity; it’s his passion.

“My dream is to win an Oscar for writing or acting in a movie and then the next night I’m standing in front of 2,000 people at an independent show,” Hauser said in an interview with The Associated Press. “That’s what I want to do. I want to be approachable to everyone and show them the real me, which means I’m a fan like everyone else.”

Hauser has performed WrestleMania matches and bouts across the industry, from Bad Bunny to Johnny Knoxville to Shaquille O’Neal, and is the latest in a growing list of celebrities who deserve to be the main event of any card. “I think I’m somewhere in between wanting to do the kind of reckless, heavy set guy stuff that Mick Foley does, and wanting to entertain people while hurting my body, but also wanting to study technicians.” said Hauser. “I’d love to be able to ride someone on a Texas cloverleaf just as much as I can through tables and chairs.”

Hauser has appeared in various professional wrestling promotions over the past few years, including WWE and its rival All Elite Wrestling. Hauser, a star of “I, Tonya” and “Cobra Kai,” took a guitar shot to the head from AEW heel Jeff Jarrett while competing in AEW last year. Jarrett and his villainous cronies stole the Golden Globe that Hauser brought to the ring.

Hauser said he would have struggled more if he didn’t have a schedule that made him one of Hollywood’s busiest, and these days, most coveted actors. He is set to play the late “Saturday Night Live” actor Chris Farley in the biopic, and is currently filming the “Naked Gun” reboot starring Liam Neeson. He won the role and is currently playing the lead role. He will appear in the upcoming game show drama “Press Your Luck.”

As for his most popular role, Houser said he’s only “acting” in the final season of “Cobra Kai” because of his tight schedule.

“I showed up, but I can’t say anything else,” he said. “It will be memorable and you will always laugh with Stingray.”

Hauser frequently makes inroads into the wrestling world and gains more and more fans, perhaps with the exception of those closest to him.

“My beautiful, patient, understanding wife and agent are totally against it and want me to buy sidewalk chalk and play hopscotch in the driveway,” he said. “The reality is this is what I’ve always tried to do.”

Hauser said he hopes to have a long and successful career as an actor, but plans to only wrestle for the next 10 years.

“I really feel like the future is bright for me between acting and wrestling. It’s really about adjusting my schedule, finding great opponents, and finding great stories to tell,” he said.
