A 12-year-old girl in New York City is recovering after being shot in the arm when two suspects approached the children they were fighting and at least one opened fire, police said.
New York City police said just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, 10 children were involved in a scuffle on the sidewalk on 160th Street in Queens, when two people approached and began shooting. FOX5 reported.
The preteen, who was shot in the left arm, was taken to a children’s hospital in stable condition. Two other people were injured, police told FOX News Digital. An 18-year-old woman suffered a cut to her head, and a 25-year-old woman suffered a stab wound to her chest. Both went to the hospital for treatment.

Police said all three injured victims were involved in the incident. The relationship between the suspect and the children involved in the fight is unknown.

Police are investigating whether one or both of the gunmen fired shots at the group. No weapons were recovered from the scene and no arrests were made.
