Romney (R-Utah) made the comments in an interview. MSNBC on wednesday. He also said Biden made a mistake by not urging Manhattan prosecutor Alvin Bragg to drop the case against Donald Trump.
Mr. Romney said Mr. Biden should have “fighted like crazy” to stop Mr. Bragg from advancing. The unsuccessful presidential candidate argued that the so-called hush money scandal was a win-win for Trump.
The retiring senator also noted that any federal lawsuits against Trump are unlikely to be resolved before the general election.
“If I were President Biden, I would have pardoned him right away when the Justice Department filed the indictment. I would have pardoned President Trump. Why?” Romney asked. “Well, it makes me, President Biden, a great man and the people I pardoned are dwarfs.”
Romney also suggested that Americans are concerned about bigger issues than President Trump’s trial, including inflation, borders and America’s involvement in the world.
