Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), known as “MTG,” and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), known as “AOC,” said in a House Oversight Hearing on Thursday: There was a heated exchange to discuss the resolution. Attorney General Merrick Garland is held in contempt of Congress.

During the hearing, Greene took time to discuss committee member Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) hiring the daughter of Judge Juan Marchan, who is presiding over former President Donald Trump’s business records case. I pointed out what I was doing. Marchand’s daughter’s company runs digital campaigns for Democrats, earning millions of dollars in fees from Democratic candidates, including Trump’s opponents.
“I’d like to know if any of the Democrats on this committee employ Judge Marchand’s daughter,” Greene said.
“Tell me what that has to do with Merrick Garland,” quipped Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) out of turn.
Undaunted, Green said, “Oh, Goldman. Yes, he’s advising.”
Mr. Crockett asked, “Who is he advising?” Does he know what he’s here for? ”
“I don’t think you know what you’re here for,” Green retorted, before commenting on Crockett’s “fake eyelashes.”
The exchange sparked angry cries from the Democratic Party. Ocasio-Cortez then said, “I want to move to retract Ms. Greene’s words because I have a point of order. That is absolutely unacceptable.” That’s true.”
Green replied, “Feelings hurt, yeah.”
Ocasio-Cortez then responded, “Oh, ma’am, ma’am.”
Green said amused. “Oh, really?”
Ocasio-Cortez then said, “Stop playing with me, baby.”
Green replied: “Baby girl? I don’t think so.”
Ocasio-Cortez then said, “We’re going to move and take back your words.”
Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) then called for the meeting to be canceled.
During the break, Ocasio-Cortez was heard saying, “Absolutely not.”
“That can’t be allowed. Please retract,” she continued.
Another Democrat was heard saying, “Sit down.” please sit down. “
“We’re not going to give a fancy apology. She has to actually apologize,” Ocasio-Cortez said. Then she heard her saying: Alright, let’s go. Alright, let’s go. Alright, let’s go. “She’s going to learn” was also heard saying.
Greene was asked if she wanted to walk back her words, which she did, after which Ocasio-Cortez demanded that she apologize.
Greene then asked Ocasio-Cortez why she wasn’t arguing, adding that she (AOC) didn’t have enough intelligence to argue.
“I will be harsh in my words, but I will not apologize,” she said.
Republicans then called on Ocasio-Cortez and Goldman to retract their statements.
