Former President Trump said Friday night that he believes “inside” the White House should apologize for the hush-money lawsuit Trump is facing in New York and that the lawsuit should be dropped.
“There is virtually universal agreement on the fact that Alvin Bragg’s witch hunt and sham trial against me was instigated and prosecuted directly from the inner halls, and should be immediately dropped by the White House and the Department of Justice. and apologize to me and everyone else who had to buy into the election interference hoax against crooked Joe Biden’s political opponents. ” President Trump said he said on his Truth Social site Friday. “not good!!!”
President Trump is wrapping up another week-long trial in New York, making history as the first sitting or former president to face a criminal trial.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges that he falsified business records to cover up hush money he paid to keep quiet about his alleged affair with porn actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
Trump is under a gag order regarding the case, which limits his ability to speak about the “sham trial.”
The gag order limits what President Trump can say about court proceedings and officials, including star witness Michael Cohen, who testified this week, following attacks on the judge’s family and others.
The former president received support from Republican lawmakers this week, many of whom traveled from Washington to a New York courthouse to denounce the incident. They argue that the incident is an example of election interference because it is a way to keep Trump out of the election trial and out of the eyes of President Biden.
