Trainer Baffert’s stallion Moose was an early favorite heading into the Preakness this week, but it was announced that Zedan Racing Stables had removed him after the horse developed a fever.

“We are extremely disappointed that Moose will not be able to run in the Preakness due to a high fever,” the organization said in a statement Wednesday. “Based on the recommendation of his trainer, we prioritized the long-term health of the horse and decided not to enter him in this race. We hope that Moose will make a full recovery soon.”
