On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher reacted to President Joe Biden and 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump agreeing to two presidential debates. He said the agreement to hold the meeting shows Biden “knows he’s losing.” Otherwise he would not have agreed to the discussion. Because “only losers want to argue.” Ma also said Trump will want to debate regardless of how he does in the polls because “Trump always wants a crowd.”
Maher said, “Let’s talk about these arguments. I don’t really want to talk about them, but that’s what’s going on in this country. And, first of all, if you ask me, Biden thinks he’s going to lose.” You know, because otherwise he wouldn’t have agreed, right? Trump always wants a crowd. But this is very different. It’s interesting, and I’ve never seen a summer debate, not for a presidential election. Elections are always held in October, just before the election. This is June 27th, and the convention is still being held. Is not.”
Maher also praised the debate’s rules, which require candidates to have their microphones disconnected if they exceed their allotted speaking time.
