Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) is heading to Las Vegas on an “economic mission” after enjoying the Georgia Masters Golf Tournament on taxpayers’ dime.
Mayor’s website announced On Friday, Bowser was scheduled to attend a meeting of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), which seeks to attract retailers to the nation’s capital.

“The economic mission is coordinated by the Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP), which has organized the district’s presence at ICSC since 1999,” the release continued.
Mayor Bowser and Partnership’s participation in ICSC has resulted in major grocers and retail anchors such as Lidl, Wegmans, Whole Foods, Apple, Target, Burlington, and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema opening new stores in D.C.
“We know that Washingtonians in every part of D.C. want access to great amenities. From Lidl in the 7th Ward to Wegmans in the 3rd Ward, these are conversations that started at ICSC,” said Bowser. the mayor said. “Through programs like the Food Access Fund and the Neighborhood Prosperity Fund, we have made great strides in closing the amenity gap, but there is still work to be done to increase accessibility and equity. Closing these gaps and supporting the continued transformation of downtown should be the focus of this journey.”
According to Breitbart News, the news was announced after Bowser attended the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia in April and used tax money to pay for the trip.
Her public calendar listed this as part of a “sports and economic development visit.”
