But did you have to take it out in an innocent dugout cooler?
Jake DiekmanThe New York Mets relief pitcher absolutely exploded after allowing a home run in a game against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night — and yes, he hit it in an innocent dugout cooler. Did you think the Mets were supposed to be “great”?
Hmm…I don’t think so. (Related article: So cool: Topps creates custom trading card for Blue Jays fan who was hit in the face by Bo Bichette’s foul ball)
Diekman allowed one run in five innings. 2 run home run Guardians first baseman david fry, and it wasn’t long after that that Diekman’s head completely erupted inside the dugout. In the fly game, the reality is much worse than written on paper. This is because Diekman was originally at a 0-2 disadvantage against Frye. But it didn’t matter, and Frye hit a home run off Diekman’s four-seam fastball, infuriating the relievers. Meanwhile, New York fell behind 7-4.
Oh, and it’s even worse for Diekman. Frye’s 334-foot home run would not have been recorded as a home run in most Major League Baseball stadiums. ah.

What makes this dysfunctional Mets situation even stranger is that something similar happened to a fellow relief pitcher just the other night. Jorge Lopez.

As a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins, I can’t say much about their National League East rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies…they’re rolling into this team right now. first place. But what about the Mets? Who are our competitors in other departments?
LOL…dysfunctional as usual.
