People in the Bronx were better off under former President Donald Trump but Democrats “took advantage” of them, some Bronx residents told Fox News in a series of interviews ahead of Trump’s historic Bronx rally.
Fox News spoke to Bronx residents ahead of President Trump’s Thursday rally, and they seemed to agree they’re not happy with the way things are going under President Joe Biden’s leadership.
One person told Fox News it was a 50-50 split – some people love Trump and some hate him – but added that Trump is “better than Joe Biden.”
Asked whether life in the Bronx would have been better under a Trump or Biden administration, one woman replied, “It would have been better under Donald Trump.”
“I have to say there’s been a lot of change in the Bronx and everything was getting back on track and then it’s all come crashing down again,” she said.
“Elderly people can’t walk on the streets. Children are being killed. You go to the grocery store and you can’t buy anything anymore,” said the man, who described himself as a lifelong Democrat.
“I’ve been a Democrat my whole life, and the Democrats use us, they abuse us, they think we belong,” he added.
Another said everyone needs help and accused Democrats of prioritizing immigrants over Americans.
“They’re giving all the money to immigrants,” said another, before explaining, “I’m not against it, the problem is they’re cutting into ours.”
Asked what Biden could do at this point, another person replied “nothing,” concluding that Biden is at a point of no return because everyone is aligned with Trump.
One man said black and Hispanic Americans were happy to have Trump in the area and “wanted to put pressure on the Democrats and step up their activities.”
“And maybe Republicans have an opportunity here,” he added.
When asked what advice she would give to Trump, one woman suggested he stay true to himself and be a relatable person.

The rally is scheduled to begin at 6pm Eastern time, and a crowd is already gathering.
