Conservatives of all stripes are supporting the candidacy of Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) to become the next Republican Senate Leader.
Scott announced Tuesday that he is running to represent the Republican Party in the Senate in the next Congress.
“I believe now is the time for dramatic change,” the Florida Republican said.
Scott will be competing against Sen. John Thune (R-SD) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the No. 2 to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), for the position of next Senate Republican Leader.
Scott pledged to bring about the changes needed to make the Senate Republican Conference better.
With so much backroom dealing going on behind closed doors, rarely going through the committee process, and trillion-dollar spending bills typically not even allowed for votes on amendments, we are routinely surprised by bills and then asked to vote on them with no time to comment or consider them.
“Republicans across America want the Republicans they elected to the United States Senate to stop caving to Democratic demands,” he wrote. “This is not an unreasonable demand or expectation,” he added.
Conservatives supported Scott’s call.
Former Republican presidential candidate and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy Said Scott is “by far the best choice.”
“Rick Scott is by far the best choice among the candidates running for Senate Republican Leader,” Ramaswamy wrote on Twitter. “He has successfully led a big company and a big state. I have no doubt he can do the job.”
“He also has a quality that’s very rare in Washington: he cares about what voters really want. I support him,” Ramaswami added.
“Senator Rick Scott is a good man. He’s turned around a lot of businesses. He turned around Florida as governor. He’ll turn around the U.S. Senate as well,” wrote Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA. Rick Scott I fully support him to be the next Senate Republican Leader.”

“Sen. Rick Scott’s entry into the Republican Senate leadership race and his plans to lead the Senate Republican Conference are not just a positive development; they are a game changer,” Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) wrote, without explicitly endorsing Scott’s leadership bid.
“This is the first time since I’ve been in the Senate that a colleague running for Republican conference leadership has presented a clear plan for how he will lead the convention,” the conservative senator from Utah continued.
“I completely agree,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) wrote, echoing Lee’s excitement about Scott’s decision to run.
