WSMV reported that an Arizona woman gave birth in a minivan outside a hospital on Monday after being sent home by a nurse.
Sherazado Bedarte Gonzalez gave birth to her daughter in a minivan just outside the emergency room at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center. according to The incident happened early Monday morning, and although she had been in severe pain and had been to the medical center multiple times over the past week, hospital officials had reportedly sent her home just hours before.
Vedarte Gonzalez’s mother, Lucy Villanueva, played a key role in the birth, having to deliver her granddaughter at the hospital’s entrance. Due to Vedarte Gonzalez’s discomfort and fears about the pregnancy, her parents visited the hospital three times, but were reassured and sent home each time, Villanueva reported, according to the media. The parents were at the hospital the morning of the birth, but were asked to leave around 1am and instructed to wait until the induction of labor, scheduled for May 25.

However, shortly after arriving home, her condition rapidly worsened, forcing her to be rushed to hospital just two hours later, WSMV reports. The birth occurred immediately after her arrival at the hospital, in emergency and unplanned circumstances.
“She said, ‘Mommy, the baby is coming out! We have to go!'” Villanueva said, according to WSMV. “She said, ‘It’s coming out! I can feel it. After the birth, Villanueva immediately called for help inside the hospital, and medical staff took over in the parking lot. After the birth, Bedarte-Gonzalez and her newborn daughter, Luzbela, were admitted to the hospital, where they reportedly spent the night. A pediatrician examined Luzbela and confirmed she was doing well, according to WSMV.
