Former President Donald Trump on Thursday criticized the “pro-crime, far-left policies,” including cashless bail, that have “destroyed” New York City at a rally in his hometown of the Bronx.
“Very sadly, in recent years, our city has been ravaged by bad, crime-promoting, far-left policies that are known to nearly everyone — Republicans, Democrats, independents,” Trump said.

“You know the names of these crazy policies: no bail, defunding good police departments, sanctuary cities, releasing violent criminals,” Trump continued.
He added that President Joe Biden “stands for all of this insanity and more, but millions of people across New York know it’s insanity.”

Trump highlighted the impact of these left-wing policies when he spoke about the death of NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller in March after he was killed during a traffic stop. Trump, who attended Diller’s wake, noted that the suspect had been arrested more than 20 times before.
“The man charged with the brutal murder of Officer Diller had been arrested 21 times by the NYPD and was allowed out because of the political activism he was conducting here,” Trump said, adding that his “accomplice” had been arrested more than 10 times before.
“These dangerous and violent repeat offenders should never have been on our streets. Jonathan should still be alive today, yet they are released time and time again,” he added.
Trump vowed to “stand up to the Marxist district attorneys and Soros prosecutors and say enough is enough.”
“We will not tolerate that. We will not let them destroy our communities. We will not let them destroy our country,” he continued.
