Ocasio-Cortez mocks Trump over bad weather ahead of Bronx rally: ‘God is good’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) mocked former President Trump for the bad weather ahead of a rally in the Bronx on Thursday.

“God is good 🙏🏽,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a post Thursday. Social Platform X.

The New York Democrat was responding to a post showing rain falling around 10 a.m. local time on Thursday in the Crotona Park neighborhood of the Bronx, where the rally is planned.

A progressive congressman earlier this week slammed the former president for holding a rally in the South Bronx, blaming a “legal ankle bracelet” for him holding the rally in the Democratic stronghold.

“Donald Trump is bankrupt. He needs money. He’s having rallies to scam people and extort money to cover his legal costs,” she said.

Trump announced last week that he would hold a rally Thursday night in Crotona Park, a green space in one of the region’s most diverse neighborhoods. The former president is seeking to garner support from minority voters just days before a Manhattan jury is due to hand down a verdict in the hush-money case, which finds him charged with 34 felony counts.

Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.), a Democrat who represents New York’s 15th Congressional District, where the rally will be held, said Trump’s presence in the Bronx should be held in the borough’s criminal court.
