Nicki Minaj shares update after Amsterdam arrest livestream: ‘I’ll have the lawyers & GOD take it from here’

Nicki Minaj has been updating fans following her arrest in Amsterdam.

Authorities at Amsterdam airport attempted to detain Minaj on Saturday on suspicion of drug possession, according to an Instagram Live video the “Super Bass” singer recorded during the encounter.

In “X,” Minaj thanked everyone who prayed for me today, saying, “May God protect you and all that pertains to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination.”

She went on to explain that she had just arrived at a hotel in Manchester, England, where she was scheduled to perform that night as part of her Pink Friday 2 world tour.

“After being in detention for five or six hours, it took another 20 minutes for us to board the plane and take off,” Minaj said, noting that the flight was only 50 minutes.

However, she was unable to make it in time for the performance, even though she said, “The building stayed open after 11 p.m., which I’m really grateful for.”

“So they were successful in their plan to not let me on stage tonight. I managed to get to the root of it by recording them and posting the whole thing live. I have loads of video evidence. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you, but from here on out, I’m going to leave it to my lawyers and God,” she said.

“Please accept my sincere apology. They knew exactly how to hurt me today, but this too shall pass,” Minaj told fans, promising to reschedule the shows and provide “extra perks” to ticket holders for the canceled shows.

At the Manchester venue, Coop Live, Nicki released a statement on X about Minaj’s missed show, writing, “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore all possibilities to make tonight’s performance possible, today’s events have made this impossible. We are truly disappointed with the inconvenience this has caused,” adding that information about the rescheduled show will be released soon.

Representatives for Minaj and Amsterdam police did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.

On Saturday, Minaj recorded her arrest on Instagram Live, in which Dutch officials can be heard saying she was being arrested on suspicion of “drug possession.”

Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj Petty, was told to get into a car to be taken to the police station but initially refused, saying: “I’m not going there. I need my lawyer with me,” expressing concern that she would miss her show in Manchester in time for the night.

She eventually got into her car and officers told her, “ [her] Get “there” as soon as possible.

Officials told Minaj they had conducted a “quick, random search” of her luggage before it boarded the private jet, but that they wanted to conduct a more thorough search after she had “filmed” officers.

“They said they found marijuana and another group has to come here to weigh the pre-rolls,” she posted to X, adding, “Remember they stole my bag without permission. My security has already told them the pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yeah and the pilot is telling me to remove my Instagram post.”
