Suspect identified in Massachusetts stabbing spree

Massachusetts prosecutors on Sunday charged a 26-year-old man with attempted murder in a stabbing that left at least two people injured at a rest stop the previous day.

Authorities have charged Jared Ravizza with two stabbings that happened at a McDonald’s in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Saturday and said he may also be the perpetrator in a stabbing that happened at a nearby movie theater earlier that day.

He was charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police allege Ravizza stabbed a McDonald’s employee through the drive-thru window while sitting in his car around 7pm on Saturday, then went back inside the store and stabbed a second employee before fleeing in a car.

Two victims, a 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, suffered stab wounds and were taken to a nearby hospital.

Ravizza was arrested by police at about 7:15 p.m.

The movie theater stabbing happened about an hour earlier in nearby Braintree, Massachusetts, when a gunman entered an AMC Theatres and stabbed four girls, ages 9 to 17, before running off.

All four girls suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a Boston hospital for treatment, police said.

Police said the vehicle used in the McDonald’s stabbing matched the description of a vehicle owned by the suspect in the theater stabbing. Ravizza has not been charged in the theater stabbing, but authorities believe the two incidents may be related.
