Louisiana sheriffs are searching for four inmates who escaped from a prison on Sunday night, authorities said.
Tanjipahoa County Sheriff Daniel Edwards said four inmates escaped through the perimeter fence of the Tanjipahoa County Jail during recreational time on the jail grounds.
The suspects have been identified as Omarion Hookfin (19), Avery Guidry (19), Jamarcus Cyprian (20) and Travon Johnson (21).

According to the sheriff’s office, an inspection of the perimeter fence revealed that sections of the fence were weak, allowing a body to easily slip through.
Johnson, Hookfin and Gudry were all incarcerated for their alleged involvement in a 2022 murder in Hammond, Louisiana, while Cyprien was incarcerated on armed robbery and weapons charges.
Hoofkin was also charged with aggravated assault while incarcerated in Catahoula Parish.
