The Fallen Honored on Memorial Day: ‘We Honor and Remember’

On Memorial Day 2024, many prominent politicians and organizations will honour the fallen soldiers and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

“Today we pay tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom,” former first lady Melania Trump said in a social media post.

“Their selfless and courageous acts will be forever remembered and honoured,” she added.

Former President Donald Trump shared a photo of himself saluting the fallen soldiers, along with his own words: “We can’t replace them. We can’t repay them. But we can always remember them. And today we’re doing that. We remember.”

“This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the service and sacrifice of those who served bravely and gave their final dedication to our country. Thank you for protecting American freedoms,” said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

“On Memorial Day, we remember the brave souls who died defending our great nation. We honor their courage, their selfless service, and the families they leave behind. They will never be forgotten,” the U.S. National Guard posted. The U.S. Army posted, “We salute all service members who have lost their lives serving the United States of America.”

“Let us never forget what this day truly means — may God bless the heroes who sacrificed their lives to protect America and our freedoms,” Rep. Steve Scalise (R-Louisiana) said, as social media flooded with posts honoring fallen soldiers on Memorial Day.
