Donald Trump attacks Joe Biden, trial judges in Memorial Day post: ‘Human scum’

Former President Trump used Memorial Day to attack the judges presiding over his civil and criminal cases and call his political opponents “human scum.”

After the Truth Society Posting with solemn remembrance Early Monday morning, President Trump slammed President Biden and the judge in a lengthy statement.

“Happy Memorial Day to everyone, including the human scum who are working hard to destroy our once great country,” said Trump, the Republican presidential nominee. wrote Truth Social.

He specifically singled out Judge Lewis Kaplan, calling him a “far-left, Trump-hating federal judge” who presided over two defamation lawsuits brought by author E. Jean Carroll, which Trump lost and ordered him to pay more than $80 million in damages, a ruling he is appealing.

The former president also attacked Judge Arthur Engoron, who ruled in New York in his civil business fraud trial and fined Trump more than $450 million. Trump called Engoron a “nutjob” and suggested he would soon launch similar attacks against Juan Merchan, the judge in Trump’s ongoing hush money criminal trial.

The statement was a stark departure from what Biden said Monday in a solemn speech at Arlington National Cemetery, where he used the opportunity to address the death of his own son, Beau Biden, who died of brain cancer believed to have been caused by exposure to toxic chemicals while serving in the Iraq War.

“I know it’s painful,” Biden told the families of fallen veterans, “The wounds are still real. They’re still raw. This week marks nine years since we lost our son, Beau.”

“The pain of losing my father remains with me every day, just like it does for you,” he said. “It’s still there, sharp and clear. But so is the pride I feel in the military. It’s as if I can still hear him say, ‘Dad, it’s my duty. It’s my duty.'”

Dozens of congressional leaders likewise noted the holiday in statements of condolence and gratitude on Monday.
