Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) has called for Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) to be “removed from Congress” due to her anti-Israel conference speech with ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO).
Tlaib was speaking Saturday at the Palestinian People’s Congress in Detroit, Michigan, an event that included speakers with ties to the PFLP.

Lawler wrote: post X argued that Tlaib “should be immediately removed from Parliament.”
“Associating with or speaking to groups that receive funding from U.S.-designated terrorist organizations will disqualify you,” Lawler added.

Sana Dhaka, who is married to PFLP terrorist Walid Dhaka, was the keynote speaker at the conference. Another speaker was Wissam Rafeedi, an activist with PFLP ties. according to To National Review:
Among the speakers at the Michigan event was Wissam Rafeedi, an activist with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Marxist-Leninist terrorist organization active in the Gaza Strip and headquartered in Damascus, Syria. The PFLP is designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department, Japan, Canada and the European Union.
According to the media, Dhaka’s husband, Walid, who was in prison for leading “the PFLP operation that kidnapped, tortured and killed Israeli soldier Moshe Tamam in 1984,” died of cancer in April.
During the meeting, Tlaib criticized President Joe Biden for his handling of the ongoing war in Gaza and his support for Israel.
Responding to a statement from the International Criminal Court saying it was seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant and several Hamas leaders, Biden said what was happening in Gaza was “not genocide.”

Tlaib questioned Biden while speaking at the conference, asking, “President Biden, where is your red line?” The Michigan congresswoman also urged people to vote against Biden in November.
“We won’t forget in November, the International Court of Justice just ordered the Israeli government to stop the invasion of Rafah,” Tlaib said, “yet President Biden says what’s happening in Gaza is not genocide. President Biden, where are your red lines?”
November 2023 report Canary Mission’s investigation found that Tlaib has ties to six activists linked to Hamas, the U.S.-designated terrorist organization behind the Oct. 7, 2023, Israeli attack that left 1,200 people dead and more than 200 taken hostage.
Canary Mission identified at least six Hamas activists involved in raising funds for Talib’s campaign in the 2018 parliamentary elections: Muwafaq Juballa, Sheikh Mohammed Qatanaani, Huwaida Allaf, Salah Sarsour, Rafik Jaber and Abdelbaset Hamael.
The outlet reported that while incarcerated in an Israeli maximum security prison, Juballah met with “a co-founder of Hamas” and “called for the death of Jews and praised the terrorists who murdered US Army veteran Taylor Force.”
