Caitlin Clark scored a WNBA career-high 30 points on Tuesday night against the Sparks.
However, she was unable to lead the Fever to victory, as the team suffered a disappointing 88-82 loss to Los Angeles and finished the season with a 1-7 record.
Clark’s standout performance came on a night when her Fever team faced off against Cameron Brink, the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft.
In addition to his 30-point performance, the No. 1 overall pick shot 43.8 percent from the field and 30.0 percent from 3-point range to go along with five rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks.
One such block came in the second quarter, when Clark blocked a shot by Lee Yueloo, grabbed the loose ball and charged the other way.
The Fever superstar moved the ball around, then came right back and drilled a deep three-pointer to put the Fever within four points.
She also had an impressive block in the fourth quarter, deflecting away a shot by Dearica Hamby near the basket.
Clarke’s attacking prowess was impressive once again, but he struggled with ball control and lost the ball seven times.
Brink, also a rookie, finished with just three points, three rebounds and two blocks for the Sparks.

With their latest loss, the Fever fall to 0-3 at home at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Indiana picked up its first win of the season last week when the Fever defeated the Sparks 78-73 at Crypto.com Arena.
The Fever have placed a strong emphasis on defense in recent days as they navigate the early stages of the 2024 WNBA season.
“We have played the most games and the most away games so far. [had] “We don’t get much rest, so we’re just trying to hang in there and figure it out as we go,” Fever coach Christy Sides said after the loss. According to IndyStar.
The Fever will host the Storm on Thursday.
