Ex-NBA Star Dwyane Wade Blasted for Launching Support Group for Trans Children

Former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade is under fire for starting an online support group to help young children become transgender.

Wade, whose son Zaya began living as a girl when he was just 12, recently announced the launch of Translatable, an online initiative to support children who want to “transition” to a different gender.

Wade argues that parents and adults need to be forced to accept transgender people whether they are against them or not, and that Translatable is a “parent- and child-safe” website where people can discuss and get information about transgender people.

The Wade Family Foundation will fund Translatable to provide a community that “supports growth, mental health, and well-being, and this space will inspire more conversations and increase understanding and acceptance.” Wade also pledged to “use $250,000 in unrestricted funding from the Elevate Catalyst Award to Translatable.”

But many are disgusted by Wade’s efforts to promote dangerous and extreme gender transition among children.

Another user criticized Wade, writing, “Dude Wade…this is so awful. You did this to your son because your wife controls you. Sad.”

Social media users accused Wade of ignoring his son’s mental illness.

“Imagine having to spend the rest of your life pretending your child doesn’t have a mental illness because you’re too weak a father to say ‘no,'” he wrote.

One person responded that Wade was “sick” and a “depraved person.”

Another user slammed Wade for not being a good parent.
