A Florida woman is accused of trying to elude authorities by jumping into the ocean during the Memorial Day holiday, according to the New York Post.
Alicia Lazo, 20, and Zadok Westfield, 23, were allegedly caught engaging in sex acts behind a locked gate on a Florida pier around 4:30 p.m. according to According to the New York Post, the Naples Police Department responded to multiple witness reports of the couple engaging in indecent conduct.

When officers arrived, Lazo and Westfield reportedly quickly got dressed. Lazo ignored police instructions and attempted to escape by jumping off the end of the pier into the ocean, but failed. According to the New York Post, officers found Westfield naked, but he stayed behind and cooperated with authorities. Westfield reportedly explained that he had initially planned to swim to the end of the pier and jump off, but ended up having sex instead. According to the outlet, witnesses who were on the beach with children between the ages of 7 and 15 reported distress to police, saying the children had asked them about the couple’s sexual activities. Both Lazo and Westfield were charged with trespass and disturbance of the peace. Lazo was also charged with resisting arrest without violence. They were both taken into custody and released on bail the same day.
The pier, a well-known landmark that stretches nearly 1,000 feet into the Gulf of Mexico, has only been partially open to the public since it was heavily damaged by Hurricane Ian in 2022, according to the New York Post.
