The comedy’s latest season followed Molly Wells (Maya Rudolph) and her trusty Wells Foundation team as they struggled to donate her $120 billion fortune as promised. Is there one? Loot Will season 3 be available on Apple TV+?
the current LootAs of the premiere date of the season 2 finale (June 29), Apple TV+ had not yet officially renewed the comedy for a third season. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the party is over. When I spoke with co-creators Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard before the season 2 premiere, they expressed a strong interest in producing more episodes. In fact, they Loot The team has been discussing ideas for season 3, which is a promising sign for the series.
“We’re already talking about ideas for Season 3. We’d love to do more with the show. I feel like we’ve only just scratched the surface with 20 episodes. We’ve done shows that are 100, 150 episodes long. So I definitely feel like there’s more to this show,” Yang explained.

Loot Star Michaela Jay Rodriguez also echoed the desire for a season 3, telling Decider, “Absolutely. There are no conditions, no ands, no buts about it. There are no questions. The answer is simply ‘Yes!’ I would love to return for a third season. The cast is amazing. We love working together, so honestly, yes.”
Waiting for further updates LootWith the renewal underway, can you talk about what season 3 could be like?
What are the possibilities? Loot What’s season 3 like?
If you have seen LootIf you watched the season 2 finale, you’ll know there are a lot of loose ends and cliffhangers that will likely be resolved in season 3, from Molly and Arthur’s relationship to Molly’s money and the fate of the Wells Foundation. Loot Check out our article explaining how the Season 2 finale, “Decider,” ended.
Specific announcements from the show’s producers about Season 3 include: Loot Co-creator and star Michaela Jay Rodriguez said:
“One of the things we talked about is that billionaires live this jet-setting lifestyle, and they’re kind of a cosmopolitan bunch. So it’s interesting to think about what this bunch might look like in a different context. That’s obviously part of the lives of really, really, really rich people. So we might do something like that,” Yang said.
In season 2, viewers saw Nicholas get offered a big role that required him to move to South Korea for six months, and furthermore, he wanted to connect with his birth mother. When asked if the final scene of season 2 would see Nicholas and Molly jet off to Korea, or if we could see Nicholas searching for his birth mother in the future, Hubbard replied, “Those are all things that are on the table. We would love that sort of thing. And right now, we’re just trying to figure out what’s the most interesting way to kick off this season. What’s something that we can do to dig a little deeper into these characters, like Nicholas’s birth parents, and how do we keep them at odds with each other? We’re excited about all of those possibilities.”

As for what’s next for Sofia in season 3, Rodriguez told Decider, “I’d love to see her emotions seep into the workplace and see how her coworkers react to that. I imagine her skipping down the hallways – we’d never see her do that – and then her coworkers have an open opinion about it and ask questions like, ‘What’s wrong with her?'” That scenario would send Sofia into a frenzy, so here’s hoping Isaac is still in the mix.
Finally, a romantic teaser for season 3 has arrived for all those who love Molly and Arthur. You’re not alone. The showrunners are pushing for the colleague couple, too! “The reason we love writing the Molly and Arthur story is because Maya and Nat have such great chemistry. They’ve been friends for years. They’ve been friends for like 20 years. So we’ve spent a lot of time on that relationship. And as we get into season 3, I think we’ll definitely see a lot of what Arthur knows now, which is how Molly feels about him and how he secretly feels about her, become clear pretty quickly,” Hubbard said. “I think they’re going to have to make some decisions about what to do with each other. And I think whatever they do, it’s going to be complicated. And why we love writing these stories is because they come from completely different worlds in a way, right? Molly’s been a billionaire for 25 years, and Arthur has three pairs of khaki pants. So there’s going to be some issues between them. And it’s really fun for us to write the scripts and for these great actors.”
Waiting for further updates LootRest assured, if the Apple TV+ show does return, it will likely continue to adopt the position that billionaires shouldn’t exist, while highlighting important issues like the housing crisis.
“We’ve never been pushed back. To bring this into the show, we’ve spoken to people who know a lot more than we do, people who work in foundations and in government. We’ve really tried to listen to their opinions and ask, ‘What’s plausible?’ We’re not experts, so we’re not saying this is the solution or this is how it should be. Our primary job is as writers, comedy showrunners and directors,” Yang said. “That being said, it’s great to bring something into the show that’s somewhat plausible and relevant to real life. It’s never going to be the main focus of the show. You can watch a documentary or read a book about it if you can, but if it sheds light on any aspect of it and raises awareness, that’s great and a big bonus for the show.”
Loot Season 2 is currently available on Apple TV+.
