The Los Angeles County coroner determined Wednesday that “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The cause of death of the former “Siberia” cast member was ruled a homicide.
The actor was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in Los Angeles on Saturday. He was 37 years old.
The actor’s mother, Scarlett, confirmed the news to TMZ, explaining that he was shot after he and a co-worker apprehended three men who were trying to steal a catalytic converter from his car.
Authorities told Watcol’s mother that he did not resist, but he was killed when he confronted the suspected robber.
On Sunday, Wachter’s talent agent, David Scholl, released a statement about his death, telling Variety: “Johnny Wachter was a wonderful human being.
“He was not only talented and dedicated to his craft, but a true moral example to all who knew him. He epitomized hard work, tenacity and a never give up attitude.”
“Through the ups and downs of a difficult profession, he always remained positive and continued to strive for the best. The time we spent with Johnny was a privilege we all wish upon each other. He would literally give the shirt off his back to us. After more than a decade together, he will forever leave a hole in our hearts.”
Wachter’s ex-fiancée Tessa Farrell also posted a tearful video to TikTok on Monday to mourn his death.
“If you’re the person who did this, if you’re watching, I’m sorry, but you shot the wrong person,” she said. he said in the clip.
Ms Farrell, who met Mr Wachter in 2013 and remained friends with him after their engagement ended, told her ex-husband’s killer to “get a proper job”.
“Human lives are too easily ignored,” the actress continued, urging her followers to “make change as a community” and “support each other.”
