A Texas home invader apparently hadn’t seen the famous movie “The Untouchables,” which includes a warning not to bring a knife to a gunfight, because that’s exactly what he did Monday night in Taylor, a city about 45 minutes northeast of Austin.

Police found a large knife with a sheath inscribed with the words “Hail Satan” in the suspect’s possession.
When police arrived on scene, the suspect had left the home and was lying on the front porch with a gunshot wound to the lower back, according to the report.
Police identified the suspect as Austin Sumpter, 23, of Thrall, according to the newspaper.
According to the press release, police found a large knife with a sheath with the words “Long Live the Devil” inscribed on it in the suspect’s possession. The suspect has been hospitalized and is expected to survive.
The paper also reported that police have obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect on suspicion of felony burglary, which will be executed once the suspect is released from medical treatment.
