We got the series.
The Rangers were trying to take the series to 3-1 on Tuesday in Florida, but this time they were unable to win in overtime for the first time in the playoffs.
The Panthers won in overtime to tie the series at 2-2, and the Blueshirts return home on Thursday for a crucial Game 5.
There’s no denying that the Panthers have dominated the Rangers for much of this series, but the Blueshirts still have home ice and are two wins away from the Stanley Cup Final.
To react to the Game 4 loss and put the rest of the series in perspective, we bring you a new episode of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Brian Boyle and Molly Walker.
Brian Boyle and Molly Walker’s “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast:
- defense: The Rangers need to change how they play the defensive zone. It’s not working. Man-to-man is not the right way to play if they want to be successful.
- The series is tied 2-2: The Panthers have dominated the Rangers throughout this series, and the Rangers are lucky the series is tied.
- change point: Panarin needs to score goals. Mika needs points. The Rangers need their stars to play like stars if they are to win the series.
- Igor: The Rangers need to get more physical around the basket and force the Panthers to call goalie interference, and he’s been great this series.
