Trump son-in-law Michael Boulos meets with dozens of Arab leaders in an effort to curry favor

With both the Republican front-runner and President Biden seeking delegates in the November election, about 40 Arab American leaders met with two top Trump figures in the key battleground state of Michigan.

The Trump campaign told Fox News Digital that the meeting, which also included Michael Boulos and former Director of National Intelligence Rick Grenell, was not organized by the campaign.

Mr Bloss, the son of Lebanese billionaire Massad Bloss, is married to Tiffany Trump. His sister was also reportedly in attendance.

The meeting took place at an Italian restaurant in Troy, a suburb of Detroit. Detroit Free PressAmong those in attendance was Syrian-American physician Dr. Yahya Basha.

The Post reported that Basha, who voted for Biden, donated to the 2020 presidential election and has a photo of Biden hanging in his office, helped organize a dinner for Boulos and Grenell last week, calling the meeting “positive” and “a step in the right direction.”

Another attendee said President Trump’s “Abraham Accords” Middle East peace deals were a hot topic and were well-received by participants.

Asked about the meeting, a Trump campaign spokesman said while it was not an official event, the campaign would continue to educate Arab American voters about Trump’s successes in the Middle East and the policies that have “brought historic levels of peace and stability to the region.”

“We understand that supporters of President Trump met in Michigan. While the meeting was not requested by the campaign, we share the belief that Biden’s failed Middle East policies have brought death, chaos and war to the region,” campaign representative Brian Hughes told Fox News Digital.

“This failure led tens of thousands of Democrats to vote as ‘independents’ in Michigan’s recent primary election.”

The Detroit newspaper said reports of Secretary of State Antony Blinken meeting again with Arab American groups in Foggy Bottom on May 17 were “not positive.”

Moussa told the media that, by contrast, Biden is “working tirelessly towards a just and lasting peace.”

Biden’s challenges in Michigan were explained by Rep. Hillary Scholten (D-Mich.) earlier this year. To Politico He is trying to balance winning support from moderates and union Democrats without alienating progressives and the state’s large Muslim and Arab populations, which he called an “impossible situation.”

The headwinds from swinging the state back into Democrats’ favor in 2020 are being blown away by more than 100,000 Democratic voters who recently voted “independent” in the party’s February primary.

The president has faced criticism from a significant number of Muslims in the state over his handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with prominent Michigan congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who is of Palestinian descent, accusing him of being an “accomplice to genocide” over the issue.

Meanwhile, Trump is trying to win back support in the Great Lakes state, becoming the first Republican to accomplish the feat since George H.W. Bush in 2016.
