Bidenflation Turned Fast Food into ‘Luxury’ for 78% of Americans

LendingTree investigated A survey of 2,000 American adults found that 78 percent consider fast food a luxury.

“78% of consumers consider fast food a luxury because it has become increasingly expensive,” LendingTree reports. “Furthermore, half of Americans say they consider fast food a luxury because they are struggling financially.”

Among those earning less than $30,000 a year, 71% consider fast food a luxury, along with 58% of parents with young children, 58% of Gen Zers, and 53% of women.

Normally I don’t like fast food or eating out, but my wife and I are going on a month-long camping trip. One of the great things about camping is that we don’t have to eat out. Our house has a galley kitchen, so we can eat the same food we eat at home while on the road.

But my dad loves a good burger, so yesterday I went with him to a local burger place, which was just a burger place, Big Boy, and no joke, it cost me $30.41 for two cheeseburgers, two fries, and two medium sodas.

What on earth is going on?

Big Boy isn’t considered fast food, but still…what’s going on?

This is what’s happening — Bidenflation…

McDonald’s Prices from Trump to Biden

  • Medium fries: $1.79 – $4.19
  • McChicken: $1.29 to $3.89
  • Big Mac: $3.99 – $7.49
  • 10 McNuggets: $4.49 – $7.58
  • Cheeseburger: $1.00 – $3.15

That means the same meal at McDonald’s would cost you nearly $20. To be fair, the Big Boy Burger is more than twice the size of a McDonald’s cheeseburger, so it’s now pretty close to that same $30.

more from poll:

While 67% of Americans agree that fast food should be cheaper than eating at home, 75% say it’s not. Additionally, nearly half (46%) say fast food restaurants charge about the same as their local sit-down restaurant, while 22% say fast food is more expensive. When asked what their go-to quick and cheap meal is, 56% say they cook it at home.

For generations, fast food has been a quick, low-cost, and convenient way for budget-conscious Americans to feed their families on busy school nights, after a long day at work, or when no one feels like cooking but doesn’t want to spend the money.

No one is arguing that fast food is healthy. It’s not. But for the average person, fast food was a great option once a week or two: a cheap treat, a break from the routine, a night when mom wasn’t at the stove or washing dishes.

As a kid, Tuesday night was McDonald’s night. Sitting in the car listening to old tunes and washing down burgers and fries with orange soda. This is just another thing that Joe Biden and the destructive Democrats have taken away from us with their insane, destructive policies.

First sports, then concerts, movies, and now fast food. One affordable leisure activity after another has become priced out of reach for everyday working people. Don’t you get it? They want to keep us indoors, miserable, bored, glued to screens, and depressed.

Depressed people become hopeless and easy to control.

You really think Democrats who are so keen to abort babies born alive, mutilate children to appease a transgender god, and lock us up for a year wouldn’t have thoughts like that?

Don’t worry, food made from insects is cheap.
