Jurors in the New York City trial of former President Donald Trump will continue deliberations for a second day on Thursday after failing to reach a verdict on the first day of deliberations.
Jurors sent several notes to Judge Juan Melchan between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning seeking clarification on some of the testimony they heard during the trial and some of the jury instructions Melchan read out Wednesday morning.
To acquit or convict Trump, all 12 jurors must reach a unanimous verdict on any charge. What actually happens in the deliberation room is a mystery, but these memos and other developments over the course of the week may provide clues as to where the jury may or may not be headed. If all 12 jurors cannot agree, a disagreement is possible. Jurors are scheduled to continue deliberating throughout the day Thursday, and will deliberate again on Friday if they don’t reach a verdict.
Trump, meanwhile, was forced to remain in the courthouse all day, unable to campaign, while the jury reached its verdict. He is now there again.
This case will continue to develop throughout the day, so be sure to follow Breitbart News live for the latest updates on what’s happening in court.

Update 10:53 a.m. ET: As everyone searches for clues about what’s going on in the jury deliberation room, here’s an interesting graph published by The New York Times in late April, when the jury was selected, that details where the 12 jurors are getting their news.
Where Jurors in the Fake Trump Trial Get Their ‘News’
The majority are NYTimes
Trump cannot get a fair trial in New York, he just needs one honest and unbiased jury. Pray for Trump 🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/TK9qc5gnix

Of note, when Juror #2 was selected, he stated that his news sources were Trump’s social media company, TruthSocial, and Platform X, run by Elon Musk and formerly known as Twitter. Juror #1 said he reads the UK’s Daily Mail, a conservative-leaning tabloid, and watches right-leaning Fox News and left-leaning MSNBC, but also reads The New York Times. In addition to Juror #1, Jurors #3, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10, and #12 all said they read The New York Times. Interestingly, Juror #4 said he doesn’t get his news from anywhere, but this may also be an interesting character.
Update 10:46 a.m. ET: MAGA Inc., a pro-Trump super PAC, released the following video that shows just how false this all is.
Joe Biden and the Democrats cannot decide the outcome of the election in a sham trial. The only decision that matters will be made at the ballot box on November 5th. Vote Trump! pic.twitter.com/YH4YDAyuQ7

Update 10:45 a.m. ET: This morning, jurors asked Marchan to reread parts of the instructions.
Now in progress: The jury asks Marchan to begin with instructions on how to consider the evidence and draw inferences, including the analogy that if the ground is wet in the morning, one can infer that it rained overnight.

Court reporters also reread portions of the depositions to the jury.
The two court reporters’ re-readings of parts of the transcript have the feel of actors reading a script for the first time — and, of course, they do so without the emotion or intonation that the jury will hear it for the first time.

It is unclear when jurors will return to the deliberation room to continue deliberations. The jury, which is made up of seven men and five women, is scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
