“Wheel of Fortune” contestant Tavaris Williams is speaking out after his shocking NSFW answers on the show went viral.
On the May 23 episode of the game show, Williams was trying to solve a phrase puzzle when she incorrectly answered “right up the butt,” sparking an angry response from fellow contestants, host Pat Sajak, and the Internet.
But when he appeared “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Williams was in good spirits Wednesday about his virus turmoil.
“Pat was awesome. He made me feel great during the break,” Williams described the 77-year-old Sajak.
“He said, ‘Look, we’ll find a way to edit it cleverly. I don’t know how, but we’ll do it.'”
Despite Sajak’s promises, the incident aired exactly as it was when the episode was filmed in early April.
Williams, whose children encouraged him to apply for the show, told Jimmy Kimmel that he warned his wife about what she would see on TV.
“I told my wife right afterwards, ‘This is all you need to know, but everything else is going to be kept secret. I was told it might be edited, but I don’t know what it’ll look like,'” he explained.
“And then it was forgotten until the world remembered what I said,” Williams added.
Kimmel, 56, told Williams, that It was the first time in his life that he’d ever uttered an NSFW phrase.
“Jimmy, I’ve never used those words in that order in my life,” Williams said.
To continue poking fun at the situation, Kimmel decided to challenge Williams to a different puzzle.
The phrase “ALL HANDS ON D_CK” appeared on the screen, and Kimmel jokingly told Williams he’d give her “11 minutes” to solve it.
“Jimmy, you’re the worst,” Williams said, before giving the comedian the correct answer: “Everybody move in.”

As the crowd laughed at Williams’ mistake, the other contestants and Sajak tried to stay calm.
Contestant Blake got the answer right: “This is awesome!”
Despite the huge confusion, Williams admitted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he did in fact take home $95,000 from the show.
“Most people will never know,” Williams said of his winnings, “they just see the footage.”
