Former President Trump criticized his New York criminal conviction during an interview on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday.
“This is weaponization and it’s very dangerous. We’ve never seen anything like this in our country,” he said in an exclusive interview.
A Manhattan jury on Thursday found Trump guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying business records.
“Everybody knows it. This is a fraud,” he said of the trial, “and Republicans … are united on this. They know this is a weaponization of the Department of Justice and the FBI, and it’s all coming out of Washington.”

The interview, which aired in snippets on Sunday’s show and was moderated by co-hosts Pete Hegseth, Will Cain and Rachel Campos Duffy, asked the Republican front-runners to consider the political landscape post-conviction.
For example, a Daily Mail poll showed that Trump’s approval rating rose by six points immediately after the attack.
“Everybody knows it. This is a fraud,” he said of the trial, “and Republicans … are united on this. They know this is a weaponization of the Department of Justice and the FBI, and it’s all coming out of Washington.”

Trump focused on the unfairness of the case – his team’s efforts to change the venue from deep blue Manhattan to a more favorable location – and attacked Judge Juan Marchan, who has been the subject of fierce criticism from conservatives.
“We were probably the worst area in the country in terms of voter turnout… and they always [charges] “These are areas where Republicans essentially can’t get any votes,” he said.
“But the good news is I think we set a record that surpassed all records in fundraising.”

The former president’s fundraising page went down following his guilty plea on Thursday, but record donations flooded into his campaign, turning the guilty plea into cash.
Trump’s legal team has vowed to appeal the conviction to the New York Court of Appeals and possibly to a higher court.
The former president is also leading President Biden in opinion polls in several key battleground states, signaling a level of dissatisfaction with the current administration.
