Dustin Nolan Departs KWQC TV6

During a live segment on Friday, local Iowa newscaster Dustin Nolan shared that he is leaving his position at KWQC TV6. He expressed this with an emotional farewell, saying, “Today is your last day.” In his announcement, he reflected on the significance of the job and the trust viewers placed in him over the years.

Nolan’s voice trembled as he acknowledged the support he received from the audience and his dedication to being transparent throughout his tenure. He did not delve into the specific reasons behind his resignation but emphasized the need to deliver more than just “sanitized news” to viewers.

“My goal has always been to cover the issues that genuinely matter. As a local news outlet, we owe it to our audience to deliver what’s best,” Nolan explained. He added that local news stories should challenge viewers and encourage them to think critically about the world.

Throughout his time at KWQC, he has garnered appreciation not only from the viewers but also from his colleagues, particularly his wife, Jenna Jackson, who supported him during his years at the station.

Nolan joined KWQC TV6, which is affiliated with NBC, in 2022. He and his wife previously achieved recognition when they won the Mid-America Emmy Award for the Best Morning/Noon News Program in 2025.

KWQC TV6 later shared a clip of Nolan’s farewell on their official TikTok account, marking the end of an era for one of its beloved broadcasters.
