Law enforcement officials have identified the man who allegedly ambushed and killed a Minnesota state trooper on Thursday as Mustafa Ahmed Mohamed.
Fox 9 report The incident occurred just after 5pm on Thursday when Officer Jamal Mitchell responded to a report of a shooting.
Upon arriving at the scene, he found Mohammed sitting next to a car, he walked over to ask Mohammed if he was OK, but without warning Mohammed raised a gun and began firing.
Officer Mitchell was fatally wounded.
Police then reportedly engaged in a gun battle with Mohammed, killing him.
CBS News I got it. Mohammed was shot multiple times.

Mohammed “pleaded guilty to federal charges of being a felon in possession of ammunition and a firearm” in 2014. He was sentenced to “just over eight years in prison and three years of probation.”
CBS News believes he was released from prison in 2020.
Civilian, 32 years old Osman Jimare was also allegedly killed by Mohammed on Thursday.
