Naval Special Warfare Command, which includes Navy SEALs, celebrates Pride with rainbow-hued post — and gets excoriated

The United States Naval Special Warfare Command (which includes the Navy SEALs) marked the first day of Pride Month with a rainbow-colored message.

The June 1 post features the NSWC logo surrounded by red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple horizontal lines, along with the words “NSW, Dignity, Service, Respect, Equality, Pride.” As expected, just There was a bit of backlash to this post.

Fox News The Defense Department said early Saturday that it “appears to be confusing” Pride Month with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month. X’s post, which has now been removed, included the above “Celebrate Pride Month 2024” image, a graphic of the Progress Pride flag, and the message, “June is PTSD Awareness Month, and the Department of Defense is committed to supporting service members and veterans suffering from PTSD.”

The cable news network added that the U.S. government first recognized PTSD Awareness Month in June 2014, a year before June was declared Pride Month.
