Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter’s hip check on Kaitlyn Clark over the weekend has become one of the most talked-about incidents in the WNBA, with many engaged in heated debates.
Carter initially said he was “not going to answer any questions about Caitlin Clark” following the 71-70 loss to the Indiana Fever, but he spoke to the media after practice on Monday along with Angel Reese and discussed the two days since the foul that the league upgraded to a Flagrant 1 violation.
Carter began the news conference by saying he had “no regrets” about what happened.

“I’m going to go out there and give it my all no matter who I’m up against, no matter who my opponent is,” Carter said, via CBS Chicago.
Carter added that she has “no complaints” about the criticism she and the Sky have received since the game. The fouls and general treatment of Clark have been one of the most talked-about sports stories on television and social media since she made her WNBA debut.
Sky’s Chennedy Carter slams Caitlin Clark for refusing to answer questions about foul
“We’ve endured a lot of hits in the last 24, 48 hours. I’m sitting here smiling. I’m not complaining. … At the end of the day, outside of basketball, it’s all love. When we’re on the four line, it’s smoke. After that, it’s all love,” Carter said, via the Daily Herald.
Carter did not answer questions after Saturday’s contest but was active on social media, particularly on his own Threads account, criticizing Clark.
“And in that respect, that’s all she brings to the team besides her three-point shooting,” Carter replied to a post about the post-game press conference.

In another post, she responded to a video of Reese celebrating with her during a timeout after committing a foul.
“Got my best friend Fasho and all my teammates,” Carter allegedly wrote about Reese.
While other Fever players, including head coach Christy Sides and general manager Lin Dunn, protested the foul on Clark, the Iowa native didn’t complain about Carter’s actions.
“I didn’t expect it,” Clark said after the game. “It’s what it is. It’s a physical game. You make free throws and you go on offense and I think that’s what we did.”
