Fearless Army Roll Call is a gathering of men putting on the full armor of God to stand against the evil forces destroying American culture, and this year’s event far surpassed previous ones.
“We had high hopes for Roll Call and it far exceeded them all,” said Jason Whitlock.
While each speaker was immensely moving, one in particular stunned Whitlock and the audience: North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson’s speech was filled with truth.
“Let me tell you about your elected officials,” Robinson began, “Ask them why they want to be elected official and hear what they say.”
“The key word is ‘want.’ There should be no want for political office. No one should be sitting on City Council because they want to have power, they want to control, they want the political benefits that come with it.”
“Nobody should be sitting in our nation’s Capitol because they want to be an elected official. That’s the issue now. People want to be elected officials. They want their collars up and their doors open. They want people to know their names and they want to be rich.”
“To me, an elected official should be like that young man on the Higgins boat heading for the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. Imagine your ability to go up to that young man and ask him, ‘Why on earth would you do this?'”
“Now imagine what that young man would say to you. He would say, ‘I don’t want to do this. But back home, the Japanese are bombing Pearl Harbor and Hitler is killing people all over Europe. I’m not here because I want to be, I’m here because I have to be. It’s my duty as an American, as a man, as a Christian to be here to serve, even if it means giving my life.'”
“This is the attitude that we need every elected official in this country to have,” he concluded.
Whitlock and Delano Squires were highly impressed.
“I think Mark Robinson really held his own,” Squires told Whitlock. “He was able to talk about the essence of masculinity and marry that with a message about what we should expect from politicians, which is less selfish men and more men prepared to sacrifice for the people.”
