Howard University on Friday revoked Sean “Diddy” Combs’ honorary degree and will return $1 million in donations amid allegations of abuse by the music mogul.
Howard University’s board of trustees voted unanimously to revoke Combs’ degree, awarded in 2014 by the historically black university in Washington, D.C., and to sever ties with the rapper. The school said.
The board also agreed to return $1 million of Combs’ donation, dissolve the scholarship program in his name and terminate all gift agreements with Combs and the Sean Combs Foundation.
“Mr. Combs’ behavior, as captured on the recently released video, is fundamentally incompatible with the core values and beliefs of Howard University, and he is no longer deemed worthy of receiving the university’s highest honor,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
