Rescued Israeli Hostage Noa Argamani Reunited with Terminally Ill Mother

One of the Israeli hostages rescued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) has been reunited with his mother, who is suffering from terminal cancer.

Noa Al-Ghamani, 25, was one of four hostages rescued in a joint operation conducted by the Israel Defense Forces, the International Israeli Army, and the Israeli Police. Al-Ghamani is one of the most widely known hostages captured by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023.

Since his rescue, Al-Ghamani has been reunited with his family, particularly his mother, Liola Al-Ghamani, who is “hospitalized with very advanced cancer,” professor and doctor Roni Gamz confirmed, according to The Times of Israel. reportCiting Ynet News, the report said that 61-year-old Liora had been diagnosed with stage four brain cancer.

“Noah’s mother is here in hospital with advanced cancer and the last eight months have been very complicated and difficult, and even in the last few days her condition has progressed and is very serious,” Gambs told the outlet.

Video footage posted on X show Noah got out of the van as he arrived at Ichilov Hospital, where his mother is hospitalized, and was greeted by cheers from the crowd as he walked toward the hospital entrance.

Noah was abducted from the Supernova music festival and video footage of the abduction was released showing her between two men on a motorbike, reaching for her boyfriend.

News of Noor’s release came after Hamas released a video recording of the hostage, in which he can be heard calling on Israelis to protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government, and pleading with Israelis not to leave the fate of the hostages “in the hands of Prime Minister Netanyahu and his war council.”

Noah’s mother video In November 2023, she revealed that she had a “brain tumor” and wanted the chance to “meet” Noah before she passed away.

“I’m asking President Biden and the Red Cross to bring Noah back as soon as possible so that I can see her,” Liola said in the video. “Noah, if we can’t see her, I want you to know that I love you very much. And that we did everything we could to get you released.”

Hamas also released a video in January in which Noor was being coerced into announcing the deaths of two other hostages, who appeared in the video with him the day before the deaths were announced.

Gumbs added that the “reunion” with Noah and her family came “after much anticipation and many months.”

“Noah, along with the whole family, has been learning about his mother’s complex medical condition,” Gumbs added. “Noah himself is doing well and of course will continue to undergo testing and evaluation.”
