Jesse Morgan, whose 6-year-old daughter Lucy died suddenly after playing with her siblings, spoke to Fox News Digital about her memories of her daughter.
“She had a very bubbly personality, a little reserved at times,” he said. “Once you got to know her, she was very outspoken and a lot of fun. She was a tough kid and played soccer very hard.”

Jesse remembered seeing a photo of Lucy, his daughter and his wife, Bethany.
“My wife said she was unforgettable, how beautiful she was, and when you look at the pictures you can see she is absolutely beautiful and her personality is incredible,” he said.
Jessie recalled that Lucy was “the cuddliest child” in their family of six.
“I remember her fixing my bedhead. [hair] And I just want to sit with you for a long time. It’s not that I’m restless, I just want to lie down with you and snuggle.”

Jesse, a pastor at Green Pond Bible Chapel in Rockaway, New Jersey, told Fox News Digital that the family vacation was part of his own sabbatical.

“The first week [of sabbatical] “She said it was the best week of her life,” he said. “We did so many fun things.”
Photos shared by the family show Lucy and her three brothers, Silas, Shiloh and Atticus, enjoying fishing and kayaking in Limerick, Maine, before the tragedy struck.
“According to her, it was the best week of her life.”

On May 30th, the family’s happy vacation came to an abrupt end after they enjoyed a leisurely lunch.
Jesse said he and his wife were reading and resting in the backyard while their children were playing badminton when his son came in “looking very worried.”
“We went outside and saw what had happened. It was terrifying beyond words to go from being so quiet and calm to an incredibly traumatic experience,” Jesse said.

Lucy suffered an unexpected blow when the shaft of a racket being played by her 10-year-old brother broke off and flew into her skull.
“A freak accident occurred when her racket broke as she was swung downwards, causing sharp shrapnel to penetrate Lucy’s skull as she was sitting on the sideline, causing devastating injuries,” Jessie explained in a series of posts on her blog. New Creation Living“As I held her, Bethany was crying out to God and was still breathing but unresponsive.”

Lucy died from her injuries four days after the accident.
“After extensive and further definitive testing, he was pronounced brain dead at 1:32 a.m. on June 5th and his heart stopped at approximately 4 a.m.,” Jesse wrote.
“Lucy was with Jesus.”
Her parents held out hope that Lucy “believed in the death and resurrection of Jesus.”
“Lucy was with Jesus.”

“Four weeks ago, she asked Bethany how she could be with God and be saved,” Jesse wrote. “Bethany explained it to her and offered to pray with her, but ‘Miss Independent’ wanted to do it herself. She went to her room, prayed to God for forgiveness, and told him that she believed in the death and resurrection of Jesus.”
“What a gift,” he said.

Jesse wrote that he and his wife were comforted after finding her prayer journal, saying, “It was like God was writing with me.”
