Despite Israeli forces’ successful hostage rescue mission on Saturday, thousands of anti-Israel protesters raged outside the White House.
Protesters claimed Israel had crossed a “red line” of “genocide” in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel detailed weeks of planning for Saturday’s hostage rescue mission that saved the lives of four Israeli nationals captured in an Oct. 7 Hamas attack.
But protesters remain outraged by Biden’s policies toward Israel and his actions in Gaza.
“It’s about drawing a line that Biden will not draw on Israeli genocide in Gaza, and we, the people, are drawing a line today and saying enough is enough,” Nas Issa, a protester with the Palestinian Youth Movement, told NBC News. “It’s time for an arms embargo. It’s time to end this.”

Another protester told the outlet that he regretted voting for Biden in 2020 and “will never vote for him again.”

The Israel Defense Forces said three male and one female hostages had been rescued in the largest hostage rescue operation since the start of the war with Hamas in Gaza.
Noah Al-Ghamani, 26, was rescued from the first location, while Almog Meir Yan, 22, Shlomi Ziv, 41, and Andrey Kozlov, 27, were rescued from the second location. Arugamani is the most widely known She has been held hostage since the video of her abduction was first released, in which she can be seen between two men on a motorbike, with one arm outstretched and the other held down, screaming “Don’t kill me!”

Members of the national police’s special counterterrorism unit, Yamam, and Shin Bet operatives simultaneously raided two Hamas buildings to rescue the hostages: Al-Ghamani was rescued in one location, while Meir Jan, Kozlov, and Ziv were in the second.

During the operation, Chief Inspector Arnon Zmora, a member of Yamam’s special counter-terrorism unit, was seriously injured and later died.

Meanwhile, protesters outside the White House chanted slogans against Zionism and appeared to demand that Israel be wiped off the map.

“We don’t want a binational state. Take back ’48,” protesters could be heard chanting. The slogan refers to the year Israel was founded following a UN partition plan that would have also created a Palestinian state. But Arab countries attacked Israel and, after its defeat, Egypt took control of the Gaza Strip and Jordan took control of the West Bank.
