A maintenance worker died Friday after becoming trapped in equipment at a San Antonio food processing facility and suffering a heart attack, KENS 5 News reports.
Firefighters from the San Antonio Fire Department arrived at the Texas Cuisine Solutions facility just before 10 a.m. to respond to the incident, according to KENS 5 News. reportFirefighters and paramedics found the worker being removed from the equipment but attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene, reports said. The worker was later identified as David Mata, 46. according to For News 4 San Antonio.

“We offer our deepest condolences and support to his family, friends and colleagues,” Chief Operating Officer Hervé Chignon said in a statement, KENS 5 News reported.
“The Cuisine Solutions family has always been committed to the safety of our employees and will continue to maintain the highest safety standards in all our facilities around the world,” Chignon said in a statement. The company is working with local authorities and following all regulations. [Occupational Safety and Health Administration] We are following U.S. Department of Labor regulations as we evaluate this case. Our thoughts, prayers and support are with the family at this time.”
The Daily Caller reached out to the San Antonio Fire Department and the Cuisine Solutions facility in San Antonio but had not received a response as of press time.
