Shiba Inu Marketing Lead Lucy speaks about growing concerns over the lack of updates surrounding Shiba Inu’s metaverse project, SHIB: The Metaverse.

According to Lucy, the less information that is released about the Metaverse project, the more impactful any next revelations will be.

Lucy ended her tweet with the phrase “nothing is forgotten,” suggesting that the team is actively working on the project behind the scenes, despite not sharing any updates about SHIB: The Metaverse.

Concerns about the Shiba Inu Metaverse Project

The last major update for the project came in March 2024, when Lucy showcased the project’s progress, and since then the community hasn’t received many updates on the Metaverse project.

This led to speculation that the team had forgotten about SHIB: The Metaverse, but Lucie denied this speculation in a recent X post, emphasizing that nothing has been forgotten, including SHIB: The Metaverse.

SHIB: Metaverse Overview

For the uninitiated, SHIB: The Metaverse plays a pivotal role in efforts to expand the utility of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The Metaverse project was introduced in 2021 alongside other Shiba Inu-related projects.

The following year saw significant progress, including the sale of 100,595 parcels of land within the metaverse. The Shiba Inu Ecosystem team brought on entertainment industry veteran Marcie Jastrow as an advisor to the project.

To date, Jastrow has raised awareness of the project by showcasing it at various events, including the 2023 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference and the 2023 South by Southwest (SXSW) festival.

The team also unveiled concepts for different hubs within the metaverse. Last year, the team promised to give users partial access to the project by December 2023. However, no official updates on this development have been announced.

Earlier this year, Lucy revealed that SHIB: The Metaverse users would soon be able to earn TREAT tokens by performing certain tasks.

Following Lucie’s recent comments, it’s possible that the team is preparing to announce a major update for SHIB: The Metaverse, although the date for this major announcement is unknown at the time of writing.
