A brazen porch thief in Ohio was recently caught on home security cameras stealing a package right in front of a FedEx delivery driver, who had just placed the box on his doorstep seconds earlier.
The theft happened June 3 just outside Kyle Dorsch’s home in northwest Columbus, after Dorsch shared a video of the incident on social media in hopes of arresting the culprits.
“While we were home during the day, they didn’t wait for the delivery person to answer the door, they just jumped right in,” Dorsch said. He told WSYX-TV.
Dorsch’s doorbell camera captured the moment a FedEx delivery man placed a package on her porch and knocked on her door, at which point a hooded stranger ran up to the porch, startling the delivery man and snatching the package.

To thwart doorstep theft, police and experts recommend having packages delivered to an alternative location or having delivery companies leave them in a locked area.
