Rudy Giuliani’s Grinning Mugshot Released

According to the New York Post, a photo of former Republican New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s arrest has been circulating in the media since his indictment.

Giuliani was indicted on charges of engaging in efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. according to Giuliani, who celebrated his 80th birthday last May, is facing nine felony charges, including fraud, forgery and conspiracy, according to the New York Post. The charges allege that Giuliani spread false claims of election fraud in Arizona and pressured state lawmakers to change the results of an election won by Joe Biden by about 10,000 votes.

Giuliani’s legal troubles are part of a broader investigation into the so-called “fake electors” scheme, in which a group of Trump supporters allegedly submitted false electoral names to try to allocate Arizona’s 11 electoral votes to then-incumbent Donald Trump, the outlet reported. Giuliani, the last of 18 defendants to be charged in the case, was indicted by a grand jury in April but was not formally served with legal papers until his birthday celebration. According to the media, Giuliani’s legal team has denounced the charges against him as politically motivated, called him “the most effective federal prosecutor in the history of the United States” and said he will be completely exonerated. During a remote hearing in a Phoenix courtroom, Giuliani pleaded not guilty to all charges and chose to defend himself. He also criticized the indictment.

“I consider this indictment to be a complete disgrace to the American justice system,” he said.

As part of his arrest, Giuliani must post a $10,000 bond and appear in court within 30 days, according to the New York Post. The case continues to attract media and public attention, particularly given Giuliani’s high profile and the controversial nature of the allegations against him.
