A Texas surgeon facing four federal felony charges after exposing a clinic that allegedly performed secret gender-reassignment treatments on minors said he has “no doubt” the charges are an attempt at political intimidation.
“There’s no doubt about it because that’s what they said,” Dr. Eisan Haim told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Monday.
Heim accused Texas Children’s Hospital, where he did his residency, of secretly performing gender reassignment surgery on minors. The hospital had previously claimed it planned to end the program after state Attorney General Ken Paxton issued an opinion saying the procedures could be considered child abuse under state law.

“They made every public indication that they were shutting down the program, but I worked there. I operated there. I knew for certain that this was not true. Not only did they continue the program, they secretly expanded it,” Heim said.
“As physicians, trust is the most important currency we have, and the fact that they lied to the public is a flagrant violation of medical ethics, especially at a great hospital,” he added.
After disclosing the alleged violations, Heim was accused of violating HIPAA and was indicted by the Department of Justice on four federal charges.
Journalist Christopher Ruffo, who received leaked documents about the practice from Heim, said they contained no personal information about patients.

Last week, U.S. marshals arrived at Haim’s home and handed him a summons, ordering him to face the charges in court.
Heim told Ingraham that “staggering amounts” of money are spent on gender-reassignment procedures and that such clinics take advantage of “vulnerable and confused” children to perpetuate their programs.
“What you’ve created is a lifelong chronic medical patient,” he said, referring to the harms of puberty-blocking drugs and surgery.
“They will be confined to the confines of the hospital. It’s an unimaginable fate.”
Fox News Digital previously reached out to Texas Children’s Hospital for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
