A new international survey shows President Biden receiving higher trust ratings than former President Trump.
of New Research The Pew Research Center survey found that 43% of respondents across 34 countries trust Biden to do the right thing in international affairs, while 28% have the same confidence in Trump.
The poll also found that in eight countries – Ghana, Greece, Nigeria, Israel, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh and Turkey – there was no statistically significant difference in how respondents rated Biden and Trump, while Trump was rated higher than Biden only in Tunisia and Hungary.
The Pew Research Center noted that the difference was more pronounced in European countries, with Biden’s trust in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden being at least 40 percentage points higher than that of Trump.
The poll also included questions about Biden’s handling of major global issues, including climate change, the economy, China and the wars in Gaza and Ukraine.
Respondents were divided on how Biden is handling issues such as climate change and the global economy, with about 44% saying they are dissatisfied with how Biden is handling those issues and 43% saying they approve.
Forty-five percent disapproved of Biden’s handling of China, while 39% approved. The president’s most negative assessment was for his handling of the Israeli-Hamas war, with 57% disapproving.
The poll found that 4 in 10 people in 34 countries said the United States was once a good example of democracy. According to the median across the 34 countries, 22% said the United States was never a good example, and 21% said the United States is still a good example.
The poll carried out The survey was conducted through telephone, in-person and online interviews with help from Gallup, Langer Research Associates, the Social Research Center and Berean, and Pew noted that the results were based on a national sample.
