Former DHS official says department has ‘no idea’ how many terrorists are illegally entering the country

Former Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf told Fox News on Tuesday that the department “I do not understand” How many terrorists are in the country illegally?

In an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Wolf spoke about the recent reports. 8 illegal immigrants Individuals with possible ties to the ISIS terror group were arrested as part of a sting operation. The individuals, believed to be from Tajikistan, were arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and are awaiting deportation proceedings.

“It’s politically motivated and dishonest.”

“These are people that we have actually apprehended. These are people that the Border Patrol has seen,” Wolf told Ingraham, referring to an estimated number of “2 million fugitives” who were not apprehended by law enforcement officials at the border.

“How many Tajiks are among the two million who have fled? We have no idea. The authorities don’t know, because the strategy along the border has completely failed,” Wolf added.

“They know the countries that are of concern. They know the countries that are not sharing information,” he continued. “So even if they encounter foreign nationals from those countries, they can’t screen them because they’re not sharing information. We have no basis for an assessment. So they know it. They’ve known it for a while. And the fact that they continue to exempt these individuals and allow people to enter the country means they’re not deporting them. That’s why we need a different border strategy.”

Wolf said the Biden administration needs to “prevent people from coming into the country.”

“Anyone who comes into the country needs to not only be screened, but detained while their immigration case is processed, and currently none of that is being done,” he told Ingraham.

Border Patrol agents in the San Diego sector recently was ordered to release Illegal immigrants are pouring into the U.S. interior from most countries in the Eastern Hemisphere, according to an internal memo obtained for the first time by the Washington Examiner. The communication instructs law enforcement officials to issue notices to appear to single adults from more than 100 countries “that are difficult or extremely difficult to remove.”

The directive comes just days after President Joe Biden announced an executive order he claims will crack down on illegal immigration.

In a recent Fox News interview, wolf He said Biden’s order has “little to no effect” in the San Diego area.

“Biden clearly lied to the American people and Border Patrol agents when he claimed he does not have the authority to take executive action at the border. Clearly, he does have the authority,” Wolf posted.X“This announcement is politically motivated and disingenuous. After three and a half years of little action, Biden finds himself with little to no support for his border policy from the American people.”
