Donald Trump will visit the U.S. Capitol on Thursday.

He is scheduled to meet with Republican senators, including Mitch McConnell.

It’s almost the first time he’s met Mitch McConnell.

Fox News reported:

Longtime Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Senate Republicans plan to meet with former President Donald Trump in the nation’s capital on Thursday.

This will be the first time President Trump and Senator McConnell have met in person in nearly four years.

Trump, who is presumed to be the Republican presidential nominee, will hold private meetings with House Republicans on Thursday morning and Senate Republicans on Thursday afternoon.

McConnell reiterated to reporters on Wednesday that he would be at the meeting tomorrow.

McConnell said he would support Trump because he is the Republican nominee.

Breitbart reported:

Asked by a reporter if he intended to “take a stand” on the “feud” between him and President Trump and the issues surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, McConnell said he was committed to supporting whoever the Republican nominee was.

“Three years ago, right after the attack on the Capitol, I said I would support our nominee, including him, whoever that was,” McConnell explained. “I also said earlier this year that I would support him. He won the nomination from voters across the country. And, of course, I’ll be at the meeting tomorrow.”
