“York City Police were in charge of the investigation at the time the initial assault occurred but were unable to identify the assailant at the time the injuries were sustained and therefore were unable to lay charges,” the coroner’s office said in a statement.
The cause of death was determined to be diffuse traumatic brain injury and the manner of death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Authorities said no one has been identified and no charges have been filed, but the coroner’s office noted there is no statute of limitations for murder.
